A WEBSITE I LIKE

Image
A website I actually really enjoy using is Blackboard . The homepage is very customizable which makes navigating the features offered very easy. I personally arranged my Blackboard homepage in a way that makes it easier to view on the mobile version of the site, with focus on the proximity of items so that what I use and click on most frequently will appear at the top of the page on the mobile site. Blackboard also allows for the user to change the theme of their homepage, with pre-made color schemes that already have a nice, visually pleasing contrast. Another thing I love about Blackboard is the navigation. It is so easy to navigate within a course, since every layer you clicked on is clearly displayed and allows you to easily click back to the previous page you were on without having to use the back button.  All in all, Blackboard is a very user-friendly website and I enjoy using it.

HOW I CHANGED MY BLOG

Image
I’m not a big fan of the standard theme templates that most sites provide, but unfortunately I did not have time to find and edit a template to my liking so I had to settle for a Blogger theme and change up the HTML just a little bit. However, I realized that I don’t know as much about HTML --especially in Blogger, since it’s not the host site I use for my own website-- as I thought I did. So, I decided to put that on hold until I have more time to fully dissect the HTML of this particular theme I am using. One of the primary things I changed on my blog were the fonts. I chose a script font that I have downloaded on my computer as the blog title, and to do that I put it directly onto the background image in Photoshop, since it would not be recognized by Google. I wanted the post title font to be a narrower Sans font to pair with the script, but I couldn’t find a font available in Google that was exactly what I wanted so I had to settle for ‘Open Sans.’ I used ‘Times New Roman’ ...

WHY I WANT A DEGREE FROM UTSA

Image
I did not originally want a degree from UTSA. I was a member of the CAP program and fully intended to transfer to UT Austin after my first year here at UTSA. However, I was born and raised in Austin and after being away from home for a little bit, I realized that I didn’t want to move back in with my parents and go back to the same town that I spent my entire life in. I also realized that while UTSA doesn’t have nearly as much buzz as UT Austin, it is still an amazing university that offers the same degrees with the same credibility. UTSA definitely was not my first choice, but I don’t regret deciding to stay here.
